На Кубе в очередной раз украдены очки Джона Ленона. Среди бела дня их сняли с памятника легендарному Битлу в Гаване. Фанаты Битлз считают своим долгом побывать в парке, где установлен бронзовый памятник Джону Ленону. И очень у многих, возникает вполне естественное желание, прихватить что-нибудь на память. Самая "легко отрываемая" деталь монумента – очки. Поэтому, кубинскому скульптору Хосе Вилье Соберону, приходится регулярно заново делать и водружать на переносицу скульптурного певца новые и новые очки. Однако и их, все равно, рано или поздно украдут. Были даже предложения просто снимать с памятника очки на время, когда около него не дежурит сторож, но власти кубинской столицы пришли к выводу, что это невозможно - тогда Леннону пришлось бы большую часть светового дня оставаться без очков, а между тем, именно днем сюда часто приходят туристы, чтобы сфотографироваться. Бронзовый монумент был установлен в Гаване 8 декабря 2000 г., в день 20-летия со дня трагической гибели знаменитого певца. С тех пор парк, в котором стоит памятник, стал своего рода Меккой для поклонников "Битлз".

16:31 19-03-2003 Пол Маккартни выступит на Красной площади в Москве Концерт легендарного экс-битла Пола Маккартни 24 мая на Красной Площади в Москве состоится, если будут получены все необходимые разрешения от властей. Об этом заявили сегодня организаторы концерта на пресс-конференции в медиа-центре газеты "Известия".
Выступление сэра Пола в Москве входит в европейский тур музыканта "Back In The World", который стартует в Париже 25 марта и завершится 30 мая в Глазго. Условием Маккартни было то, что его первое выступление в России состоится именно на Красной Площади. "Мы надеемся, что получим все необходимые разрешения властей заполнить всю Красную Площадь", - сказала журналистам одна из организаторов концерта Надежда Соловьева. При этом она отметила, что сейчас рассчитывают на аудиторию в 50 тыс. человек.
Красная Площадь будет разбита на сектора. Перед сценой будет 8 тыс. "сидячих" мест, остальные - стоячие. Сцена будет расположена у Собора Василия Блаженного, вход на концерт будет со стороны Ильинки, Никольской и Исторического музея. В центре площади и по бокам сцены планируется установить большие экраны, на которых будет транслироваться концерт. Рассматривается также вариант, что экраны будут установлены и за пределами Красной Площади. Стоимость билетов, по словам организаторов, составит от $20 до $200. Ожидается, что Маккартни будет выступать с той же группой, которая имела громкий успех в США в 2002 году.
В нее входят гитарист Расти Андерсон, барабанщик Эйби Лабориель-младший, на клавишных будет Викс Виккенс из группы Маккартни периода его гастролей в 1990-1993 годах, а также новичок басист Брайан Рэй. Среди песен, которые собирается исполнить Маккартни, будут как композиции с последних альбомов музыканта, так и знаменитые песни, которые он написал, еще будучи в составе "Битлз", - "Let It Be", "Hey Jude", "Yesterday", "Back In The USSR".
На сайте музыканта действительно в расписании тура есть окно: 21/05/03 HAMBURG - AOL STADIUM 27/05/03 DUBLIN - RDS STADIUM но москва пока не анонсируется, хотя для нового двд маккартни (который он обязательно как водится выпустит) фон их кремлевских стен под "снова в ссср" - лучше не придумаешь

"I've long wanted to play in Russia but for a number of years when the communists were in power, they didn't want me to," McCartney said in a statement on Wednesday. "I'm delighted that at last I can play there." McCartney, who wrote the Beatles hit "Back in the USSR" in the 1960s, said he would play Red Square on May 24. His 36-track, three-hour concert will include more than 20 Beatles classics. The Beatles, who were at the forefront of the cultural and sexual revolution in the West, were not welcome in the former Soviet Union during their heyday in the 1960s.

I'm delighted that at last I can play there", said Paul, who made the announcement today (Wednesday) during a MSN global online chat with fans on the eve of the start of the European leg of his Back In The World tour. During the Sixties and Seventies The Beatles were banned by the Soviet powers. Radio play of Beatles songs was forbidden, newspapers could not write about the group, there were no TV broadcasts about The Beatles and stores were not allowed to sell their albums. Although the Soviet allowed airplay and the sale of records by other artists including Elvis Presley and Rolling Stones, The Beatles were forbidden as the freedom of thought in their songs was deemed to be seditious to the Communist state. But now Russia will at last get the show that the Soviets didn't want the people to see. And the concert planned for Moscow will make up for the wait - Paul McCartney's Russian gig will include more than 20 Beatles classics in the 36-song, three-hour-long all-hits set that will span Paul's Beatles, Wings and solo career. Said Paul: "I've never even visited Russia as a tourist, so it's exciting for me now to be getting to perform there with a band and finally be singing Back In The U.S.S.R. and all these other songs for people who, I've got a feeling, might just be ready for it". And as a bonus, during the MSN chat today Paul announced a competition for one fan to win a prize of not only attending the Moscow show - but also to be in the show, onstage in front of the 100,000 crowd as one of the pre-show troupe of dancers and theatrical performers. The launch of the three-month trek coincides with the EMI release of two special souvenirs of the tour - a 37-song live album, titled Back In The World, and Back In The U.S. - a 3-hour DVD filmed inside the world tour during its run across America. Fronting a lean new band, Paul will perform his acclaimed and hugely-successful new show that last year broke box office records in 21 cities during its 50-date tour of America. Средняя цена билета на московский концерт Пола Маккартни составит $300. Об этом заявили в пресс-службе "Альфа-банка" - организатора "звездных" гастролей. По их словам, число мест будет значительно меньше, чем было объявлено ранее (50 тыс.) - всего их будет 20 тыс. Билеты можно будет приобрести с 1 мая в театральных кассах и через интернет на специально созданном сайте. Организаторы не исключают, что цена у перекупщиков составит около $1,5 тысяч. Выступление легендарного музыканта и композитора состоится 24 мая на Красной площади....

По оценке организаторов, на Красной площади можно будет разместить до 50 тысяч зрителей. Места в VIP-партере у самой сцены будут стоить полторы тысячи долларов. В стоячем партере - от 30 до 70 долларов. Устроители шоу говорят, что билеты на концерт Маккартни будут самыми дорогими за всю историю проведения рок-концертов в Москве, сообщает Интерфакс.
