Если уж говорить о ком-то или о чём-то значимом в этой области, то Варфидэйл применяет алюминий уже очень давно. В Аирдэйлах, например. Очень многим нравится. |
"Conventional wisdom is normally a one-dimentional and diluted version of scientific reality, designed for the consumption of people who also do not know.
Silver has a lot of properties which we struggle to explain, what can be demonstrated is that if you wind two coils, one with copper and one with silver, using the same gauge and coating, then the silver wired coil provides a "better" field, when you measure it with a highly sensitive gauss meter.
The difference we get is in the order of 30-40% if you average a series of measurements at different current levels.
What is especially interesting in an audio context, is that at ultra small levels silver appear to have a far better field than copper, gold or platinum, this may explain why low level behaviour in audio products using silver generally display much finer low level detail and also sounds better when played pianissimo, something which is very apparent when using silver in speaker voice coils, but if looked at purely from a mass standpoint the behaviour should be the opposite.
Again, I believe that the secret lies in silver's better ability to conduct a magnetic field at small current levels, i.e. a silver wired coil "conducts" a field earlier and is more linear.
A great deal more real research is needed to explain these issues properly (and many others for that matter), I have somewhere in my book collection a scientific paper from the 1930's where a researcher made similar experiments to the ones I mention above, as part of designing a particle accellerator and he noted that when the electromagnets used were silver wired, the exit speed of the electrons was slightly higher than when using copper under the same conditions, which again may have something to do with the observation we have made that silver has a more coherent field at much lower energy levels.
Sincerely,
Peter Qvortrup"
