This listing is for a matched pair of 13.5" cones as used in the Korting excello field coil speaker.Some photos in natural light and some with a flash.
I have tried these on the western electric TA-4151 and Ta-4153 speakers and the Jensen M10,M20 ,V20 etc..They sound very good.I would like someone else to have these as these are far better cones than all the remade stuff being offered on the market today.
Today in the Vintage audio circle a lot of different cones are offered or reconed into all these prized speakers ,which result in buyers being misled and fooled into buying the real thing for a big price.
Yes, These are not original Jensen or Western Electric cones but,I would rather offer these very good quality cones fitted into a old speaker ,then sold for a good price ,than see a new after market cone fetch the same price which does not perform anything like the old cones.That would keep buyers happy at least.
These cones are old stock from the late 50's.I saw the old bill of receipt from Kurt muller Germany.
These work very well and fit like a glove into the western electric ta-4151 and ta4153 speakers and Jensen M10,M20 ,V20 frames.Same depth,voice coil dia and roll type.The edges are very thin.Well, have a good look at the photos.
I picked these up more than 14 years ago from a very old gentleman who had the fortune to meet the man himself Dr.Kurt Muller in 1934.
We got to face facts that if it were not for this great man (Dr. Kurt Muller) knowledge and skill in speaker cone production and pressing ,more than half the worlds speakers would not exist today and back in the 1930's ~ 1980's.
All the famous Klangfilm,Zeiss,Telefunken,Tannoy and every other English and European speaker cone were Kurt Muller cones.Unfortunately all these old models of cones are no more available from Kurt muller
