почитайте тут - http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=F2JAZZ&orig=/mus_Essays.html
Jazz Recordings: A Beginner's Guide http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=2:12:54|AM&sql=J239

1. Dave Brubeck, Time Out (Columbia)
2. John Coltrane, Giant Steps (Atlantic)
3. Herbie Hancock, Takin' Off (Blue Note)
4. Miles Davis, Kind Of Blue (Columbia)
5. Stan Getz, Getz/Gilberto (Verve)
6. Grant Green, Idle Moments (Blue Note)
7. Wes Montgomery, Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery (Riverside/OJC)
8. Jimmy Smith, Back at the Chicken Shack (Blue Note)
9. Gil Evans Orchestra, Out of the Cool (Impulse!)
10. Modern Jazz Quartet, Django (OJC)
Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington.

Label: RCA
As an introduction to Jazz, this is great
This CD has 66 different tracks with between 30 seconds and 1 minute of each song. Each track gives you enough of an introduction to each song so that you would recognize it if you heard it again. The selection of songs is very representative of the variety of musical styles under the umbrella of "jazz." I'd highly recommend this for a music appreciation class or for someone who wants to experience jazz to see if you like it and which artists you might be intrested in hearing more of.
