Помню, когда я лет 5 назад решил систематизировать свои знания и подправить свое понимание "совеременного" джаз (понятие зародившееся в начале 60х, включающее в себя боп, вест-кост, третье течение...), мне сильно помог список 25 Modern Jazz Classics в брошюре изданной веб-ресурсом в которой был представлен рекомендованный список альбомов “современного джаза”, которые “должны быть в каждой джазовой коллекции” (в алфавитном порядке):

Понятно, что есть в этих списках иногда и вред, но все же...
